Wildebeest Charged In Track Meet Brawl To Stand Trial

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) — Four women were involved in a fight at a high school track meet.

Three of them were cited, but one of them was in court Friday charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Two mothers started to rumble at a Beaver Falls track meet last April. Apparently some comments overheard started the dispute between Jeanne Campese and Shawnrika Vaughn.

Kids tried to break up the fight.

“She had hit me in the back of the head with an aluminum water bottle and that’s whenever the whole thing escalated,” Campese said.

Campese allegedly spit her gum in Vaughn’s face.

“And Shawnrika was kicking my 16-year-old daughter when she was on the ground,” Campese said.

Vaughn was held for trial.

“At trial it will be very different,” defense attorney Thomas Fuchel said. “It’s going to be reasonable doubt. We’ll have to look at what’s going on then.”

“Once the kids did get involved, that should have stopped,” Campese said.
