2 Chicago police officers injured in crash on South Side


Two Chicago Police officers were injured late Saturday when a car hit their squad car in the Englewood neighborhood.

The accident occurred near the intersection of South Ashland Avenue and West 71st Place at 10:55 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

The officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park, where they were expected to be treated and released, Greer said.

It was not immediately known if the driver of the car received any citations or was injured, she said.
