Chicago Cop among 2 injured in West Side crash
A Chicago police officer was among two people injured this morning in a two-vehicle accident invovling a squad car on the West Side.
The accident happened shortly after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Independence Boulevard, officials said.
WGN-TV reported that the officer was removed from the scene on a stretcher.
One person was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and the other was taken to Saint Anthony Hospital, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Rich Rosado. Both victims were listed in serious-to-critical condition.
As of 7:30 a.m., there was no information available about the accident from police.
