City of Chicago Traffic aide hit by car in Wrigleyville


A city traffic aide was struck by a vehicle and injured this afternoon in the city's Wrigleyville neighborhood, police said.

The female aide with the city's Traffic Management Authority was struck near the intersection of Clark Street and Patterson Avenue around 3:15 p.m., authorities said.

The woman was taken to Thorek Memorial Hospital in good condition, according to a fire department officials. Her age wasn't immediately known. It wasn't clear whether the rainy weather played a role in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the aide remained at the scene, a police spokesman said.

It was unclear whether any traffic citations were issued.

The collision occurred a short distance from Wrigley Field, less than an hour after the Chicago Cubs lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-0.
