Man shot in Heart of Chicago neighborhoodA 27-year-old man was wounded tonight in an apparent drive-by shooting in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the Near Southwest Side, police said.
Details were sketchy, but police believe that a car pulled up alongside the man on the 2200 block of South Wood Street at 7:05 p.m. and someone from inside opened fire.
The man was hit in both arms and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had been stabilized and his wounds were believed to be non-life-threatening.
No one was in custody as of about 8 p.m. Friday night, police said.

A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side early this morning.
The shooting occurred at about 2:50 a.m. in the 5600 block of North Ashland Avenue, according to police.
The man suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was listed in "stable" condition.

A man was seriously wounded when someone opened fire from a car as he was walking down the street in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of East 62nd Street, police said.
The man suffered wounds to the chest, the right forearm and right side of the body, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.
No one was in custody.
