Two police officers and another person were injured this morning in a three-vehicle crash when a vehicle blew a red light in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. on the 1600 block of West Marquette Road, said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Preliminary reports said a police squad car was westbound on Marquette Road when another vehicle blew the stop light striking the police vehicle, Alfaro said.
A third car also was involved in the crash, police said.
The officers were taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Their injuries were non-life threatening, Alfaro said. Another person in the third vehicle was taken to Holy Cross Hospital.
The ages and genders of the injured were not immediately known.
