Male victim found shot dead in a Chicago West Side alley
A male victim was found shot to death this morning in an alley on the West Side in the city's Lawndale neighborhood.
Preliminary reports said the man was found about 5:45 a.m. in an alley located on the 3900 block of 14th Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.
The man was shot multiple times, she said.
There was no immediate information available about how police were alerted to the scene. The victim's age and the circumstances behind the shooting also were not available. Police were investigating.
Man found murdered in Chicago gangway
A 21-year-old man was found dead with head trauma lying in a gangway this morning in the city's East Garfield Park neighborhood.
Phil Trent of the 300 block of South Washtenaw Avenue was discovered unresponsive in a gangway on the 3300 block of West Warren Avenue, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Trent, who sufferd apparent head trauma, was pronounced dead at 1:50 a.m. at the Stein Institute, the spokeswoman said.
Preliminary reports frompolice stated Trent has several lacerations to his head. So far, his death has been classified as a death investigation pending an autopsy scheduled for later today.
Man shot dead on Chicago's West Side
A 40-year-old man who was found shot in the back and lying face down in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood Sunday night has died, officials said.
Police responded to a call of a person shot about 10:28 p.m. on the 900 block of South Pulaski Road. Arriving officers found the victim lying face down on the ground, police said.
The victim was Antwaun Price of the 3800 block of North Polk Street, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Price, who suffered a gunshot wound to his upper back, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
As of 4 a.m., no one was in custody for the slaying, police said. Harrison Area detectives were investigating.
Man shot on South Side, dropped off at Chicago hospital
A man who said he was shot this morning in the city's Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side was dropped off by friends at the hospital, police said.
The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was dropped off at the University of Chicago Hospitals about 3:20 a.m. by his friends, said Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
The man told police he was shot earlier this morning on the 6100 block of South Wabash Street, Greer said.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen. His condition was stabilized at the hospital, Greer said.
The circumstances behind the shooting were unknown. As of 4:15 a.m., no one was in custody. shooting. Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
4 People Shot on Chicago's South Side
Four people were shot early this morning in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.
About 12:50 a.m., two men and two women were standing in the street in the 300 block of East 60th Street when they were shot, according to a release from Chicago police News Affairs.
A 31-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was listed in good condition at Provident Hospital of Cook County, while an 18-year-old was shot in the leg and listed in good condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the release said.
A 28-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder and her condition had stabilized at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and a 29-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her arm. She refused medical attention, the release said.
No one was in custody and no other information was immediately available.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
