I am betting she has a little gambling boat problem..... Female Ex-cop from Wilmette charged in bond theft
A former Wilmette police officer was charged today with official misconduct and theft after allegedly deceiving a suspect into paying a “cash bond” for his release, when no bond was required.
Diane Grassi, 47, worked for the Wilmette Police Department for 11 years, according to a press release from the Cook County state’s attorney's office. On Sept. 29, 2010 she arrested a man for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
While at the police station, Grassi allegedly told the man he needed to pay a cash bond to be released, the release said.
Grassi resigned her position on Jan. 10, 2011, according to a statement from Wilmette Police Chief Brian King.
