Two men were arrested shortly after mugging a woman at gunpoint early Saturday in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, police said.Adrian Villela, 26, of the 100 block of 19th Avenue in Melrose Park, and Francisco Carmona, 26, of the 100 block of West 24th Place, were charged with one count each of armed robbery, police said.
The 24-year-old woman was walking alone in the 1900 block of North Lincoln Avenue when she passed one of the suspects at 12:05 a.m., police said. The second suspect then brandished a handgun and demanded her purse, police said. She gave it and both suspects fled, police said.
The woman flagged down an off-duty Chicago Police officer, who called in a description of the suspects: Two Greasy Looking Illegal Beaners.
