WARNING GRAPHIC VIDEO - Terrorist in Chile blinded, has hands amputated after accidentally detonating bomb he was planting

A wanna-be terrorist from Chile was left horribly disfigured after a half-baked bomb plot literally blew up in his face.

Luciano Pitronello Schuffeneger, 22, suffered third-degree burns throughout his body, lost his eyesight and had to have both hands amputated when an explosive he intended to detonate in a local bank unexpectedly went off, El Mercurio newspaper reported.

Security cameras showed the second-rate saboteur sneaking into the bank early Wednesday morning, only to have the bomb blow up prematurely. After the massive explosion, a disoriented Pitronello staggered onto the street, where he was consumed by flames before eventually collapsing.

Early reports indicate that Pitronello mistakenly activated the timer when he was trying to enter the building.

According to police, an accomplice was standing guard nearby at the time of the accident. That person fled the scene and is currently at large.

A self-described anarchist, Pitronello ran a short-lived blog where he wrote a pair of posts criticizing the evils of capitalism. According to friends, his ideas got more extreme as time went on.

"We thought it was just a phase, but apparently he became a radical. We never thought he'd end up like this," an unnamed friend told La Segunda newspaper.
